Nacap Marks Major Milestone with First Turbine Foundation Pour at Uungula Wind Farm
Nacap has reached a major milestone at the Uungula Wind Farm, successfully completing the first turbine foundation concrete pour.
This achievement marks the start of foundation works for the project’s 69 turbines and signals a major step forward in delivering one of the largest wind farms currently under construction in New South Wales.
Nacap is responsible for delivering 69 concrete turbine foundations along with more than 80 kilometres of access roads across the site. The first concrete pour follows more than 15 months of extensive earthworks and ground preparation to ensure the site was ready for this critical construction phase.
This milestone reflects the skill, dedication and teamwork of Nacap’s crews, subcontractors and project partners who have worked tirelessly to bring the project to this point.
Reaching this stage is about more than just concrete — it’s about laying the groundwork for long-term regional and environmental benefits. Once complete, Uungula Wind Farm will generate renewable energy for more than 220,000 homes and prevent over 560,000 tonnes of carbon emissions each year.
The project is located on Wiradjuri Country, 14 kilometres east of Wellington, NSW, and will deliver strong economic benefits to the region, including the creation of 262 direct jobs and more than $41 million in regional investment during construction.
With the first foundation now in place and turbine components beginning to arrive in Australia, the Uungula Wind Farm is moving from preparation into full construction — and Nacap is proud to be playing a key role in helping deliver this major renewable energy project.
